Aradhana Eye Institute celebrated World Optometry Day on March 23, 2023.
This time around we had planned to celebrate a little more purposefully. All the staffs of Aradhana Eye Hospitals were invited to undergo a preliminary eye examination as it is usually the healthcare workers who neglect their health. The Optometry students carried out the eye examination which included vision assessment, Intraocular pressure measurement..Many of the staff participated enthusiastically. It was a great learning experience for the students and a useful day for the staff.

Glaucoma Week – 13th to 18th March 2023
This year, during the World Glaucoma awareness week, Aradhana Eye Hospitals conducted awareness camps and free glaucoma check ups. This included free intraocular pressure testing and consultation by a senior consultant. Pamphlets in English and Malayalam language were distributed to the public. Explanation regarding the disease was done by staff using 3D models designed under supervision by our Optometry students. Out of the total 288 total patients screened , 46 had suspicious discs and eye pressures warranting further evaluation. The optometry team were very enthusiastic and did a good job in education of basics of the disease. Any clarifications which patients had was settled by the consulting doctor.
